I'm misunderstanding ? Don't think so ! New paint yes restoration, not necessarily a restoration ? Sounds like a lot of double talk is it or isn't it ?
A cabinet that's been sitting undisturbed in a theater can still have nice stickers. The cabinet I bought from Studio 28 had a hole burned in one side, something heavy enough to crush it, fall on it, and it still had one nearly perfect sticker.
1 perfect sticker and 4 perfect stickers are really 2 different things are they not ?
I'd probably call a re-paint, a re-paint, and not a restoration since a restoration could involve much more.......
Your entitled to your opinion as I am with mine ! If you look at the very bottom it said IMHO !
but I wouldn't argue that point with anyone on something as simple as a speaker. It's not like a car.
I wouldn't argue that point with anyone ? Hmmm Really ? So your saying simple things can't be restored just dressed up to look pretty ?
FWIW- I never seen a VOTT cabinet that was sitting in a theater for 30-50+ years that came out looking like that not a scratch on them.No dust, dirt, grime, gouges, scratches, nothing. 4 perfect stickers, could it happen absolutely however unlikely ! Just a lot of little things to me would suggest they have been apart. For instance the back of the horns are scratched up but not the cabs ?The wood mounts have T-nuts were there shouldn't be one.So IMHO,they have been taken off and flipped over probably when the cabs were repainted/restored.
